Enemigo intimo season 2 picks up from where season 1 left off with a sense of unresolved conflict between two former childhood friends, Alejandro Ferrer and Roxana Rodiles. In this season, Alejandro is seeking a degree of redemption, and so he tries to find a way to reconcile with Roxana. This episode, titled "Obsesion," is the first episode of the season, where we are introduced to some of the new storylines and mysteries that will unfold.

The episode begins with a touching flashback to the childhoods of Alejandro and Roxana, who share moments of sibling-like bonding and playful exchanging of observations on life, a stark contrast to the present version of their relationship, when they don´t have eyes for each other, as they are both working to destroy the other, for reasons that have been developed in the previous season. Flashbacks are a prominent feature of the show, as they provide valuable insights into the past and motivations of the characters.

We soon learn that Alejandro, played by Fernández, who was presumed dead in the previous season, has returned to his home country after spending time in Cuba. His return fuels speculation about his intentions and motives, and adds a layer of intrigue to the already complex dynamics at play between the protagonists. Meanwhile, we also meet Aída, played by the talented acting of María León, the sister of Roxana, who has taken up the mantle of leading supply of cocaine for the cartel and is determined to expand her empire beyond the city limits of Mexico City. Her character adds a new dimension to the show, as we get to see how she handles being a leader in a male-dominated world of crime.

Roxana, played by the magnetic performance of Raquel Welch´s daughter, Tahnee Welch, is dealing with the after-effects of a traumatic event that occurred in the previous season. She feels responsible for Alejandro's death and is consumed by guilt, anger, and regret. At the same time, she is trying to maintain her façade of control and power in the cartel. She must navigate not only the forces of the other gangs, but also the internal conflicts within the group that were triggered by Alejandro's return.

As events unfold, we see the complex web of relationships between the characters in more detail. We get a glimpse into the lives of some of the other members of the cartel, who have their own motivations and allegiances. The individual conflicts are symbolized visually, with the actors portraying the characters moving through different dimensions of the city depending on their mental state.

The storytelling in "Obsesion" is flawless and the acting equally sublime, as the talented actors of the show make their characters come alive with ease. The sets and the cinematography are also well-done, and contribute to the overall mood and atmosphere of the show. The music is another standout aspect-guitars, brass, and electronic beats amalgamating into a sound that reflects the energy of the characters and the city they inhabit.

Overall, Enemigo intimo season 2 episode 1, Obsesion, is an excellent introduction to the season. It sets the stage for what appears to be a thrill ride of twists and turns and character development for all players in this extremely volatile drug world. The episode's focus on the aftermath of Alejandro's return and the character arcs of Roxana and Aída indicates that both will play significant roles in the story's unfolding season. The show is indeed one of the best examples of the golden age of television we are living today, as it´s storytelling is similar of a multi-layered novel. Even the audience will be perplexed with the eternal question: who really is the enemy and who is the ally?
