The first episode of Fam introduces us to the main character, Clem. She's a young woman who's excited to start her new life with her fiancé Jay. However, her plans are thrown into disarray when her younger half-sister, Shannon, shows up unannounced on her doorstep. Clem hasn't seen Shannon in years, and initially, she's hesitant to let her sister into her life. She's worried that Shannon will disrupt her perfect life, and she's not sure that she's ready for the responsibilities that come with looking after a younger sister.

She's not used to having Shannon around and has a hard time adjusting to the new dynamic in the house.

The main conflict in the episode revolves around Clem and Jay's plans to get married. They've been engaged for a while, and they're excited to start their new life together. However, before they can get married, they have to get approval from Jay's parents. Jay's father is a wealthy businessman who's not too impressed with Clem's working-class family. He's skeptical of their relationship and thinks that Clem is only interested in Jay's money. Jay's mother is a bit more sympathetic, but she's also concerned about whether or not Clem is a good match for her son.

Throughout the episode, we see Clem trying to win over Jay's parents while also dealing with the challenges of having Shannon in her house. Shannon's behavior becomes increasingly erratic, and she starts to cause problems for Clem and Jay. Ultimately, the episode ends on a cliffhanger, with Clem and Jay's relationship hanging in the balance.
