Ep 4. Mind Over Murder

In season 1 episode 4 of Family Guy, titled "Mind Over Murder," we see Peter Griffin attempting to solve a murder mystery in order to prove his worth as a detective. When a local celebrity, James Woods, becomes the prime suspect in a murder case, Peter decides to take it upon himself to solve the crime and clear Woods' name.

Throughout the episode, we see Peter interviewing witnesses, analyzing evidence, and trying to piece together the events leading up to the murder. However, his incompetence as a detective (and just as a person in general) leads him to make several mistakes along the way.

Meanwhile, Stewie becomes obsessed with the idea of killing Lois after discovering that she has been putting him in a playpen. He devises several elaborate plans to carry out the deed, but ultimately fails each time.

As the episode progresses, we see both Peter and Stewie's storylines come to a head. Peter uncovers the true culprit behind the murder, but only after inadvertently putting himself and several other characters in danger. Stewie's attempts to kill Lois culminate in an intense showdown between the two.

Overall, "Mind Over Murder" is a fast-paced and comical episode that showcases the show's unique brand of humor. With a murder mystery plot, a subplot about an evil baby, and plenty of pop culture references, there's something for everyone in this episode.
