Ep 2. Episode 2

Joy is back with her journey of finding happiness in the second episode of Finding Joy. In this episode, Joy's crazy life continues when she is assigned to report on a sleep app that is supposed to help the users sleep better. Joy's mood is uplifted at the prospect of testing a sleep app as she loves her beauty sleep. She thinks that this piece's research is going to be easy peasy and allow her to have a relaxed time for once.

However, when Joy visits the company that developed the app, things start to get complicated. The CEO, played by Lolly Adefope, is not the friendly person that Joy expected. Instead, she comes across as very demanding and impersonal. Joy is also immediately put out by the CEO's fancy office that she is led into for her initial meeting with her. But Joy's initial distaste for the CEO and the office become moot as she starts using the app.

Joy becomes fascinated with the data that shows up on her app. She starts poring over the sleep data graphs and begins to obsess over the tiniest details about her sleep patterns. This gets to the point where her friends are starting to become worried that she may be going too far. Nevertheless, her determination to understand the technology behind the app sees her visiting the sleep tech company's CEO multiple times to get to the bottom of the technology.

As the episode progresses, Joy discovers that the app is not as perfect as she initially assumed. Firstly, while the app works for her, it is not helpful for her colleague, Pav. Joy’s inner want to help surfaces when she’s asked to give feedback and she takes it upon herself to help Pav since he is having trouble sleeping. Joy helps Pav to understand how to use the app and the two develop a surprise friendship and bond over their discovery of best practices to use the app. Furthermore, Joy also discovers that the sleep app is used for dubious purposes by the company, and she uncovers how the app can be used to track and predict people's every activity by monitoring their sleep patterns.

Joy’s emotions and mood are all over this episode. She discovers daydreams and thoughts of happiness with her actor co-host, but also feels disappointment as her hopes for a romantic moment fall short. Through it all, there are many twists and turns in this episode that keep the viewer guessing. Additionally, the comic timing of the show’s actors and their performances in general add much entertainment and levity to the script.
