Ep 4. Boogie Dark

Boogie Dark, the fourth episode of Flesh and Bone's first season, follows the story of Claire's first official performance with the company, a new ballet called boogie dark, that was electrifying from the very first moment. She found out that her sickness won't let her follow her dream to become a ballerina, but that didn't stop her from giving her best.

The episode starts off with Claire practicing the routine for boogie dark with the rest of the dancers. Paul, the artistic director of the company, isn’t thrilled with the performance and tells the dancers to keep practicing. When Claire and Trey, another dancer, are rehearsing one of their moves, Trey accidentally drops Claire. Although she isn't injured, Paul is disappointed that their practices haven't gone as well as he'd hoped.

While Claire is resting, she meets a man in the park. They strike up a conversation and the man tells her he's an artist. He invites her to his studio and they spend the night together. As the night progresses, Claire finds out how dark the man's life really is, adding a layer of intrigue and suspense to the episode.

Back at the rehearsal, the tension between Paul and his dancers escalates. The dancers are frustrated with Paul's inability to explain the choreography. Later on, as the dancers are practicing in a parking lot, they're approached by a group of men who proposition them for sex. The scene adds an eerie feeling of danger to the episode.

Meanwhile, Claire's brother Bryan comes to New York to visit her. Bryan is struggling with his own personal demons, and he tells Claire that he wants nothing to do with the family anymore. The conversation puts Claire in a vulnerable position, leaving her to face her own fears and insecurities.

As the night of the performance approaches, the dancers are tense and anxious. Paul is still distant and unfocused, which doesn't help the dancers' stress levels. But despite the tension, Claire's performance in boogie dark is stunning. She's a natural on stage, and her energy and passion are palpable.

After the performance, the dancers go out to party in celebration of their successful performance. But the night doesn't end well for some of them. One of the male dancers is too drunk and becomes violent, leading to a physical altercation between him and some other dancers. The situation is resolved, but it shows how fragile the dancers' lives can be.

Overall, Boogie Dark is an intense episode that showcases the struggles and challenges that dancers face both on and off stage. It highlights the passion and dedication that goes into every performance, while also exposing the darker side of the world of dance.
