The drama series Power Book III: Raising Kanan is a prequel to the Starz original series Power. Power Book III: Raising Kanan is a prequel set in the 1990s that will chronicle the early years of Kanan Stark (the character first played by executive producer Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson), on how he got in the drug game. Power itself tells the story of James St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), an intelligent, ruthless drug dealer who has the alias of "Ghost". He wishes to leave the criminal world to pursue legitimate business interests as a nightclub owner. St. Patrick aims to balance those two lives, while also avoiding police capture, trying to navigate his crumbling marriage and manage shifting economic alliances.
