The Taylor family has been farming shellfish in the Puget Sound for over 100 years and is recognized as one of the pioneers of sustainable seafood in America. Their farm is a model of sustainability, and they take great pride in their role as stewards of the land and water. Their oysters are revered by chefs across the country and are a testament to the power of sustainable agriculture.

The episode also explores the issue of overfishing and the role of conservation organizations in protecting vulnerable marine species. We meet a group of scientists who are working to restore the wild white abalone population, a critically endangered species that was once abundant in Southern California waters. Through hands-on field research and careful breeding programs, the scientists are making progress in bringing this once-great species back from the brink of extinction.
