Frankie Drake Mysteries season 3 episode 6, titled "Life on the Line," follows the story of the protagonist Frankie Drake and her colleague Trudy Clarke as they investigate the death of a factory worker. The episode is set in the 1920s Toronto when progressive ideas were still in their formative stages, and the division of labour was mostly gender-based.

The episode begins with Frankie and Trudy taking up the case of a factory worker who reportedly committed suicide by jumping off a building. The factory is known for its ruthless and exploitative practices and, therefore, a potential suspect in the worker's death. However, upon further investigation, Frankie and Trudy discover that the factory is not solely to blame for the death as there may be other factors involved.

As they interview the victim's colleagues and factory owners, Frankie and Trudy come across a labour union, which is fighting for workers' rights. The union leaders express their suspicion that the factory owner may have killed the worker as they were planning to form a union. The union's activists and the factory owner are not on good terms. At the same time, the owner's son and the activist are in love, which further complicates the situation.

The investigation takes a turn when Frankie meets a charismatic labour activist who is fighting for the workers' rights. Frankie takes an instant liking to the young activist and seeks his help in solving the case. The activist motivated by social justice, agrees to help and accompanies Frankie to the factory as she investigates further.

In the course of their investigation, Frankie and Trudy discover that the worker's death was not a suicide but a murder. They learn that the factory owner had a reputation for being ruthless and that he wasn't beyond taking someone's life to achieve his goals.

The episode also highlights the struggles of workers in the 1920s when the labour laws, especially for women, were not as protective as they are now. The factory worker's death sheds light on the dangerous conditions that these workers had to endure to earn a living. The activists' efforts to unionize the workers were not just about better pay and working conditions but also about the basic human right to work in a safe environment.

As the case unfolds, Frankie and Trudy realize that the murder could also be connected to a robbery that took place at the factory on the same night. The suspect list includes those who had access to the factory, including the factory owner's son, an employee, and union members.

As the investigation reaches its climax, Frankie and Trudy uncover a web of lies and deceit and finally reveal the killer's identity. The episode ends with Frankie reflecting on the sacrifices the activists made to improve working conditions for workers and how their efforts had changed the lives of workers for generations.

Overall, Frankie Drake Mysteries season 3 episode 6, "Life on the Line," offers an entertaining and thought-provoking look at the struggles of workers in the early 20th century and the social movements that emerged to protect their rights. It also showcases Frankie and Trudy's analytical and investigative skills as they solve yet another intriguing case.
