Full Moon wo Sagashite Season 1 Episode 12 Onion Ramen and the Saint's Stone

  • June 22, 2002

Mitsuki is still determined to become a singer, even though she only has a short time left to live. The pressure is starting to weigh on her, but she refuses to give up on her dream. Her friends, Takuto and Meroko, try to lighten the mood by taking her out for some onion ramen, a comfort food. While they are enjoying their meal, they notice a strange object on the ground. It turns out to be a stone with a cross on it, and they feel that it may be something important.

Takuto believes that the stone may be a saint's stone, a powerful object that can grant wishes. Mitsuki is skeptical, but she agrees to keep the stone just in case. Later, while Mitsuki is watching TV, she sees a news report that a valuable artwork was stolen from a museum. The thieves left behind a note that said they would return the art in exchange for the saint's stone.

Mitsuki is torn between giving up the stone for the stolen artwork or keeping the stone to potentially grant her own wish. She confides in her grandmother, who tells her a story about a man who wished for fame and fortune but ended up losing everything that was truly important to him. Mitsuki realizes that she doesn't want to make the same mistake and decides to keep the stone for herself.

Meanwhile, Takuto and Meroko decide to investigate the stolen artwork and find the thieves. They discover that the thieves are actually a group of old men who stole the art as a way to relive their youth. Takuto convinces them to return the artwork without harming anyone, and they agree.

In the end, the saint's stone turns out to be just a regular stone, but Mitsuki learns a valuable lesson about the importance of staying true to oneself and not sacrificing what is truly important for temporary gain. She continues to pursue her dream of becoming a singer, knowing that even if she doesn't have long to live, she can make the most of the time she has left.
