Kyo Kara Maoh! is a Japanese anime series that first premiered on NHK in 2004. The show is based on a light novel series written by Tomo Takabayashi and illustrated by Temari Matsumoto. It was produced by NHK and Studio Deen and directed by Junji Nishimura. The story follows a high school student named Yuuri Shibuya, who is transported to an alternate world filled with magic and monsters. In this world, Yuuri discovers that he is the new king of a kingdom called Demon Kingdom. He is forced to navigate through a treacherous political landscape and make difficult decisions that will determine the fate of his new kingdom.

As he tries to adjust to his new life, Yuuri is aided by an eclectic cast of characters, including the demon-king brothers Gwendal and Gunter, the half-human half-wolf con artist Wolfram, and the talking flying squirrel-like creature Tama-chan.
