Full Moon wo Sagashite Season 1 Episode 19 Undelivered Vocals
- August 10, 2002
Mitsuki Koyama is a 12-year-old girl with an extraordinary talent for singing, but due to her throat cancer, she can no longer sing without damaging her voice. One day she meets two shinigami, or grim reapers, named Takuto and Meroko, who tell her that she only has one year left to live. However, they offer her a chance to fulfill her dream of becoming a singer by transforming her into a healthier, 16-year-old version of herself when she transforms into the magical Fullmoon.
In this episode, Mitsuki is excited to have the opportunity to perform at a concert with her two favorite singers, Madoka and Johnathan, but she's nervous because she hasn't received the lyrics for their duet yet. When Takuto and Meroko check the delivery status of the lyrics, they learn that they were never mailed, leaving Mitsuki with no way to rehearse.
Desperate to make the concert a success, Mitsuki decides to visit Madoka and ask for the lyrics herself. However, when they arrive at Madoka's mansion, they are met by Madoka's manager, who tells them that Madoka is too busy to see anyone. Mitsuki insists on seeing Madoka, but the manager becomes aggressive and physically removes her from the premises.
Feeling defeated, Mitsuki decides to give up on the concert and return home. But on the way back, she sees a figure in the distance carrying a large envelope. Running closer, she realizes that it's Madoka, who had gone out herself to deliver the lyrics to Mitsuki. Overjoyed and grateful, Mitsuki thanks Madoka and promises to make the concert a success.
Meanwhile, Takuto and Meroko investigate the strange behavior of Mitsuki's parents, who have been acting suspiciously and avoiding their calls. When they sneak into her family's house, they discover that her parents had been hiding a large sum of money in their home, money that is later revealed to have been embezzled from the hospital where Mitsuki receives treatment.
Confused and conflicted, Mitsuki begins to question her parents' actions and starts to feel distant from them. However, she ultimately decides to forgive them and focus on her dream of becoming a singer, successfully performing at the concert with Madoka and Johnathan.
In the end, Mitsuki is left with even more questions about her parents and their past actions, but she chooses to prioritize her own happiness and continue pursuing her passion for music.
