Gatchaman Season 1 Episode 10 The Great Underground Monster War

The Great Underground Monster War is the tenth episode of the first season of Gatchaman. The episode starts as an endangered creature, the Neooccidentalis, is about to go extinct due to excavation for a new subway system. The G-Team, made up of Gatchaman fighters, investigates and finds that the excavation is breaking apart the underground habitat of a race of monsters, the Subterrans, which forces them onto the surface. The Subterrans are angry that their homes have been destroyed and start to attack anything in sight, including humans.

The G-Team attempts to communicate with the Subterrans, but they respond by mindlessly attacking. The team then realizes that the Subterrans are being controlled by an outside force, someone or something is controlling the monsters. After further investigation, they find that the person controlling the monsters is Dr. Raffer, an underground scientist who blames humanity for destroying the environment and seeks revenge.

Dr. Raffer has created a machine that allows him to control the monsters with a remote control device, but the G-Team destroys the machine, freeing the Subterrans from Raffer's control and stopping the monsters' rampage. In the end, the G-Team returns the Neooccidentalis to their natural habitat and Dr. Raffer is arrested.

Throughout the episode, the Gatchaman fighters use their unique abilities and teamwork to overcome the obstacles presented by the Subterrans and Dr. Raffer. Each member of the team has their specific G-suit and equipment that assists them in their role.
