The Curse of Copperhead Road is the third episode of Ghost Wars season 1. In the small, isolated town of Port Moore, Roman (played by Avan Jogia) continues to try and use his psychic powers to deal with the various ghosts that have taken up residence in the area. Meanwhile, town newcomer Val (played by Luvia Petersen) struggles to convince the townspeople that she has the power to communicate with the departed. When the town's deputy begins to experience strange visions, Roman and Val team up to try and unravel the mystery.
As the episode begins, Roman is still struggling with the aftermath of the previous episode's events. He's begun to realize that he's not the only person in town with supernatural abilities, and he's starting to understand that the ghosts he's been seeing are more than just figments of his imagination. He's reluctant to confide in anyone, though, especially since he's already earned a reputation in Port Moore as one of the local weirdos.
Val, on the other hand, is a newcomer to town. She's come to Port Moore to investigate the supernatural phenomenon that has taken hold there, but she's finding it difficult to make any headway. The townspeople are suspicious of her and her motives, and she's frustrated by their unwillingness to accept her claims. She's determined to keep trying, though, and she sets her sights on the town's deputy, who seems to be experiencing some kind of supernatural episode.
Meanwhile, the town is dealing with another crisis. A section of Copperhead Road, the only road in and out of Port Moore, has been destroyed by a landslide. With no way in or out of town, tensions are running high. Roman is called upon to use his powers to try and ease the panic, but he's not sure how much he can do. He tries to use his abilities to probe the minds of the town's people, but he's quickly overwhelmed by the sheer number of thoughts he encounters.
As Roman struggles to hold it together, Val makes a breakthrough with the deputy. She discovers that he's been having visions of a woman who died in a car accident on Copperhead Road years earlier. The woman's ghost seems to be connected to both the landslide and the other supernatural events in town. With Val's help, the deputy is able to confront the ghost and put her to rest.
Of course, this being Ghost Wars, things aren't quite that simple. As the episode progresses, the stakes get higher and higher. The townspeople become more and more desperate, and the ghosts become more and more malevolent. Roman and Val find themselves facing off against supernatural forces that are more powerful than anything they've encountered before. By the time the episode ends, they're left wondering if they can really make a difference in Port Moore - or if the evil there is simply too great to overcome.
Overall, The Curse of Copperhead Road is a tense and atmospheric episode that builds on the momentum of the previous two episodes. The show continues to explore themes of isolation, fear, and supernatural terror, and the actors all deliver solid performances. Fans of horror and supernatural TV shows will definitely want to check it out.
