A group of four elderly men -- Lee Soon-jae, Shin Goo, Park Geun-hyung, and Baek Il-seob -- embark on a backpacking trip through Europe without any prior planning. With each episode featuring a new city, the men have to rely on their wits and occasional help from strangers.
In episode 7, the grandpas continue their journey through Germany, exploring the picturesque towns of Lüneburg and Wernigerode. Their first stop is Lüneburg, a charming medieval town famous for its salt mines. Despite the language barriers, the grandpas manage to immerse themselves in the town's culture, trying out traditional German snacks like pretzels and bratwurst. They quickly warm up to the locals, even performing a traditional Korean dance routine for a group of spectators.
After spending a night in Lüneburg, the grandpas set off for their next destination -- the fairy-tale town of Wernigerode. Situated at the foothills of the Harz Mountains, Wernigerode boasts a stunning castle and colorful half-timbered houses that have earned it the nickname "the pearl of the Harz." The grandpas take a leisurely stroll around the town, admiring the architecture and popping into souvenir shops.
However, things take an unexpected turn when one of the grandpas gets lost in the woods. As the group frantically searches for him, tensions rise and old wounds are reopened. The situation forces them to confront their own mortality and the importance of cherishing their time together. Eventually, they find their missing friend safe and sound, and the group is reunited.
Throughout the episode, the grandpas' genuine camaraderie and affection for each other shines through, proving that age is just a number when it comes to friendship. The show offers a heartwarming and humorous look at the joys and challenges of travel, reminding viewers that it's never too late to explore the world and make new memories.
