In Italy, Dr. Lecter is visited by Inspector Rinaldo Pazzi, a local admirer of his work who is also investigating the latest murder in Florence. Pazzi invites Lecter to help him solve the case, not knowing his true identity. Lecter is intrigued and agrees to help, using his expertise to analyze the crime scene and deduce the killer's motives. The investigation leads them to the killer's lair, where they find incriminating evidence. However, the killer himself is absent.

As the episode progresses, we see the different characters grappling with their own demons. Bedelia is still haunted by her involvement in Lecter's crimes, Will is battling his own inner demons and trying to find a sense of purpose, and Dr. Lecter is enjoying his new life in Florence while secretly plotting his next move.
