In the sixth episode of the first season of Haven, entitled Fur, the town of Haven is struck by a strange affliction that leaves its residents covered in animal fur. As the sickness spreads, FBI agent Audrey Parker (Emily Rose) and local cop Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant) race against time to uncover its cause and find a cure.

The episode opens with a woman running through the woods, pursued by an unseen creature. When Audrey and Nathan arrive on the scene, they find the woman covered in fur and unable to speak. Similar cases soon begin to pop up all over town, with people gradually transforming into animals and losing their ability to communicate.

As Audrey and Nathan delve deeper into the mystery, they uncover a connection to a local animal sanctuary run by a woman named Lainey (Tamara Duarte). Lainey insists that she is innocent, but the evidence suggests otherwise, and Audrey and Nathan must work quickly to prevent the outbreak from spreading any further.

Complicating matters is the arrival of a government agent named Howard (Maurice Dean Wint), who claims to have been sent to contain the situation. Audrey is suspicious of Howard from the start, convinced that he has his own agenda and is not to be trusted.

As the situation in Haven grows increasingly dire, Audrey and Nathan race against the clock to find a cure for the fur affliction. With the help of Duke (Eric Balfour), a local smuggler and former flame of Audrey's, they uncover the source of the problem and work to neutralize it before it's too late.

Fur is a tense and engaging episode that showcases the strengths of the Haven series. The central mystery is intriguing and well-executed, and the interactions between the main characters are consistently engaging. In particular, the chemistry between Audrey and Nathan is a highlight of the episode, as the two characters continue to grow closer and develop a deeper understanding of one another.

The episode also explores some interesting thematic territory, touching on issues of animal rights and the ethics of genetic experimentation. While the show never gets too heavy-handed with its messaging, these ideas add an additional layer of depth to the story and help to make it feel more relevant and thought-provoking.

Overall, Fur is a strong episode of Haven that stands out for its gripping mystery, strong character development, and engaging performances. Fans of the series will find much to enjoy here, while newcomers will be drawn in by the compelling central premise and the well-realized world of Haven.
