In this exciting episode of Head 2 Head, host Jonny Lieberman takes viewers on a Southern Fried Road Trip to pit two iconic sports cars against each other: the 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and the 2020 Toyota GZ Supra. With both cars boasting impressive specs and horsepower, it's the ultimate test of sports car superiority.
To kick things off, Jonny starts in Atlanta with the Shelby GT350. Under the hood, the Shelby features a 5.2-liter V8 engine that produces an impressive 526 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful Mustangs ever made. The GT350 also has a six-speed manual transmission, sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and a track-ready suspension, making it a true driver's car.
Next, Jonny heads to Austin to pick up the Toyota GZ Supra. This reboot of the classic Supra is all-new for 2020 and has been years in the making. The Supra features a turbocharged inline-six engine that produces 335 horsepower. It also has an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, which allows for lightning-quick shifts.
From there, the real fun begins as Jonny takes both cars through a series of challenging tests. He starts with a drag race to see which car has the best acceleration, and then moves on to a handling test to see which car has the best grip and cornering ability.
Throughout the road trip, Jonny also visits a number of iconic Southern locations, such as the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham and the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee. Here, he gets a chance to really push both cars to their limits and see how they perform in real-world driving situations.
