Ep 2. The Angel

In the second episode of Hemlock Grove season 1, titled "The Angel," we continue to see the strange occurrences happening in the eerie town of Hemlock Grove. We see Roman struggling with his identity as he deals with his werewolf father, while Peter Rumancek tries to prove his innocence in the recent murders in the town.

The episode begins with Peter and his mother Lynda cleaning up the trailer they live in. A knock on the door interrupts their cleaning, and it is the school principal inviting Peter to breakfast. The principal is hesitant with Peter due to the recent murders that have occurred in the town, but Peter assures him that he is innocent.

Meanwhile, Roman meets with his mother Olivia, who tells him to be careful around the mysterious and reclusive Godfrey Institute, the family business that's holding many secrets within its walls. Roman and Olivia seem to have a strange dynamic, leaving viewers wondering about their relationship.

Peter later meets with Roman, and the two discuss the recent attack where a girl was found with her throat slit and blood drained from her body. However, Roman doesn't seem to believe Peter's innocence and tells him to be careful.

Peter later meets with a psychic named Rose, who tells him that the killer is someone close to him. We see a flashback of Peter as a child with his mother, who is in a wheelchair. She tells him that they are Roma, a tribe of humans who are cursed with the gift of turning into a wolf. She also tells him about the Upir, a species of vampires that only feed on other vampires.

We then see Roman visit his sister, Shelley, who was born deformed due to complications during birth. Shelley seems to have mysterious powers that she can't control, and she tells Roman that she saw a bright light and heard angelic singing before the incident with the girl. This gives Roman something to think about as he tries to solve the mystery.

Peter then goes to visit the latest victim of the killer, a girl named Brooke. Brooke's father is the sheriff, and he doesn't seem to trust Peter, but he lets him speak to Brooke regardless. Brooke tells Peter that she saw a bright light and an angel before the attack.

Later, we see Roman explore the Institute, where he sees a strange creature in a tank-like enclosure, as well as a room with a mysterious machine.

The episode ends with Peter confronting a man he believes to be the killer. The man denies it and threatens Peter. However, when Peter turns around, he sees a bright light and an angel.

Overall, "The Angel" is a thrilling and mysterious episode that leaves viewers questioning who the killer could be and what the Godfrey Institute is hiding. The new clues and information revealed in this episode keep the plot interesting and set the stage for future eye-opening episodes.
