The show Here and Now is a drama series that follows a multi-racial family living in Portland, Oregon. In season 1 episode 5, titled "From Sun Up to Sun Down," we see the family members grappling with their own personal issues and trying to find ways to connect with one another.

The episode opens with Ramon, one of the family's adopted children, waking up in a field after spending the night out. He is disoriented and confused, but eventually makes his way back home. Meanwhile, his sister Ashley is struggling with her sexuality and confiding in her friend, Malcolm. She is still grappling with her feelings and trying to figure out what they mean.

Greg, the family patriarch, is struggling with a midlife crisis and feeling disconnected from his wife Audrey. He begins to explore his more spiritual side and visits a Buddhist center, but ultimately feels more lost than ever before. Audrey, on the other hand, is trying to come to terms with her own mortality and realizes that she needs to take better care of herself to live a longer life.

Duc, the family's Vietnamese son, is having trouble making a connection with his father and feeling like he doesn't fit in with his white siblings. He decides to reconnect with his heritage by cooking traditional Vietnamese dishes, but is dismayed when his father doesn't seem to appreciate his efforts.

As the day progresses, tensions begin to simmer between the family members. They all have their own issues to deal with and are struggling to find common ground. However, as night falls and they all gather around the table for dinner, they realize that they are still a family and that they need to support each other through their struggles.

Overall, "From Sun Up to Sun Down" is a poignant episode that explores the complexities of family relationships and the struggles that come with trying to connect with people who are different from ourselves. As each character deals with their own personal issues, it becomes clear that they are all struggling to find their place in the world and to connect with the people around them. Despite the challenges they face, however, they are still a family and are committed to supporting each other through thick and thin.
