Ep 3. The Road Not Taken

Duncan MacLeod, the immortal Scottish warrior, finds himself tangled up in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in Highlander: The Series season 1 episode 3, "The Road Not Taken." When he meets up with a former flame, Tessa, who has turned to a life of crime, he is forced to confront his own past and make some difficult decisions.

As the episode begins, we see Tessa, played by Alexandra Vandernoot, breaking into an antique store to steal a valuable necklace. Duncan, played by Adrian Paul, watches from the shadows, unsure of how to handle the situation. When Tessa is caught by the shop owner, she uses a charm bracelet to knock him out and make her escape.

Later, Tessa tracks down Duncan at his antique shop and asks for his help in selling the stolen necklace. Duncan is torn between his loyalty to Tessa and his own sense of right and wrong. As they argue about what to do with the necklace, they are interrupted by the arrival of two other immortals, Slan Quince and Cory Raines.

Slan, played by Richard Moll, is a ruthless and sadistic immortal who is determined to kill Duncan. He has already killed 311 immortals, and views the necklace as a valuable prize. Cory, played by Jason Isaacs, is a much younger and more inexperienced immortal who is drawn to Slan's power and charisma.

Duncan is determined to protect Tessa and defeat Slan, but he is also haunted by memories of a similar situation he faced in the past. As the two immortals engage in a tense and violent fight, Duncan is forced to confront the choices he has made and the road he has taken in his life.

"The Road Not Taken" is a gripping and emotional episode that explores the complex relationships between immortals and the choices they make. It also features some intense action scenes, including a thrilling sword fight between Duncan and Slan. With its strong performances and powerful themes, this episode is a standout in the first season of Highlander: The Series.
