When it comes to dating, Ted has had some bad luck. However, in How I Met Your Mother season 1 episode 7, "Matchmaker," he believes he has found the solution to his love life woes: an overly enthusiastic matchmaker named Ellen Pierce.
Ellen insists she can find Ted his perfect match, but her methods are questionable at best. After setting him up with three women who are completely wrong for him, Ted is ready to throw in the towel. That is until Ellen sets him up with a baker named Victoria, who seems to be everything he's been searching for.
Meanwhile, Lily and Marshall have a new couch that they can't wait to christen, but they can't seem to find a moment alone to do so. Their attempts to have some alone time are thwarted repeatedly by their friends, leaving them feeling frustrated and anxious to finally break in the new furniture.
Barney, on the other hand, is convinced that he knows what's best for everyone else's love life and spends the episode dispensing his own brand of misguided advice.
As always, viewers can expect plenty of laughs and hijinks as the gang navigates the ups and downs of dating and relationships. "Matchmaker" is a classic episode of How I Met Your Mother that showcases the show's signature humor and heart, making it a must-watch for fans of the series.
