Ep 18. Moving Day

Ted and Robin have finally decided to move in together, but unfortunately for Ted, their moving day is coming up shortly, and he is being a little reluctant about everything. Barney advises Ted to emotionally detach himself from the apartment just as he did his other ex-girlfriends. Ted does not want to let go of the memories of his past life in the apartment, but he eventually decides that it is time to move on. However, it is not as easy as he thought it would be to say goodbye to what had been his home for so long.

Meanwhile, Lily and Marshall are attempting to help Ted move out of his apartment, but they cannot seem to stop fighting about everything. They argue over trivial things like what furniture to take and how to pack things the best way possible. While trying to help Ted out, they manage to make his moving experience even more stressful. Eventually, Ted grows upset at their constant arguing, and he decides to walk out of the apartment along with all of his possessions.

Upon leaving, Ted wanders through the streets of New York, unsure of where to go or what to do next. He runs into his old girlfriend, Victoria, who happens to be in town for business. After they catch up, Victoria suggests that Ted might want to consider taking a different approach to moving, and he decides to listen to her. Victoria takes Ted to her favorite bakery, where they indulge in some delicious cupcakes and reminisce about the good times they had together. Ted starts to feel better about the situation, and he realizes that there may still be hope for him yet.

As they leave the bakery, Ted runs into Robin, who has come to check up on him. Robin apologizes for letting her emotions get in the way of their moving day, and she reconciles with Ted. Together, they head back to the apartment and say their final goodbyes to the place that had been their home for so long. As they leave the apartment, Ted takes one last look back at it, and he smiles knowing that he is ready to move on to the next chapter of his life.
