Ep 17. Of Course

In the How I Met Your Mother season 5 episode 17, entitled "Of Course," the group of friends navigates through the complexities of commitment and partnership. Ted and Robin run into each other at the bar, and Robin reveals that she and Don are moving in together. Ted seems a bit taken aback by the news but agrees that it's the logical step for them.

However, when Robin later confides in Lily that she's having doubts about taking the next step in her relationship, Lily convinces her to look for the signs that will tell her if she's truly happy. Robin takes this advice to heart and starts mapping out her own "Signs of Things Not To Do" list.

Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily are having their own commitment issues. They're struggling to agree on whether or not they should have a baby. Lily is keen to start a family, while Marshall isn't sure he's ready. When Lily reveals that she's already stopped taking her birth control pills, Marshall is shocked and feels like his opinion doesn't matter.

To help their friends, Barney and Ted come up with a plan to teach them about commitment. They bind themselves together with duct tape and agree not to remove it until they've learned something. However, the situation quickly becomes uncomfortable, and both couples end up fighting.

As the night goes on, Ted has to navigate his own commitment issues when Zoey calls him. She tells him that she's getting divorced and that she wants to be with Ted. Despite having years of history together, Ted realizes that Zoey isn't right for him and that he doesn't want to rekindle their failed relationship.

In the end, the group of friends realizes that commitment isn't always easy, but it's important to try and navigate the challenges that come with it. Whether it's moving in with your partner, starting a family, or simply committing to being a good friend, it's important to take the time to think things through and make the right decisions for yourself.
