Ep 23. The Wedding Bride

Ted is in a bit of a slump after breaking up with Dr. Stella, so Barney tries to cheer him up by taking him to a movie premiere for "The Wedding Bride," a romantic comedy based on an old story Ted used to tell his friends about an ex-girlfriend. Ted is horrified to see that the movie completely twists and distorts his story, portraying him as a villain and his ex-girlfriend as a shallow and materialistic woman. Meanwhile, Robin agrees to be the minister at the wedding of her co-worker Don, but struggles to keep her feelings for him in check. And Marshall and Lily try to monitor the gifts they receive from their registry, leading to some awkward conversations with their friends. As the episode progresses, Ted struggles to come to terms with the fact that his past relationships are being exploited for entertainment purposes, while Robin finally confronts her feelings for Don. In the end, the group comes together to support each other and reflect on the true meaning of love and friendship.
