How It Should Have Ended is a popular web series that parodies popular movies by showing humorous alternate endings to their stories. In season 1 episode 5, titled "Girl Problems; Twilight; Pirates of...", the show takes on three different movies.
The first parody is of the movie "The Hunger Games." The skit opens with Katniss and Peeta arguing over who should be the one to sacrifice themselves for the other. They both end up volunteering and are taken to the arena to fight to the death. However, instead of trying to kill each other, they immediately team up and start finding ways to survive. They build a tree house and play games like cards to pass the time. Eventually, they are both declared the winners of the games, and President Snow is furious that he didn't get the violent ending he was hoping for.
The second parody is of the movie "Twilight." In this skit, Edward and Bella are sitting in a forest, and Edward asks Bella if she wants to know his secret. She nods, and Edward dramatically reveals that he is a wizard. Bella congratulates him, saying that it's great that he's come out of the broom closet. The rest of the skit features more jokes about wizards, including a scene where Edward and Bella attend a Quidditch match.
The final parody is of the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean." The skit begins with Jack Sparrow and Will Turner being marooned on an island together. Jack is desperate to escape and tries to use various tricks to get off the island, but Will is content to just relax and enjoy the island life. Eventually, a group of pirates arrives and saves them, but Jack decides that he actually prefers the island and asks to be left behind. The skit ends with Jack and Will happily living on the island together, while the pirates sail away without them.
Overall, the episode is very funny and will have viewers laughing out loud at the ridiculous alternate endings. "Girl Problems; Twilight; Pirates of..." is just one example of the clever humor and creative writing that makes "How It Should Have Ended" such a popular web series.
