Ep 4. Episode 4

After being transported to a new world with his smartphone, Touya Mochizuki is slowly starting to acclimate to his new surroundings. In episode 4, titled "Episode 4," Touya finds himself in the middle of a political dispute between two factions of the Ducal capital, Mismede.

Touya is summoned by Lady Lucia, the Prime Minister, who informs him of the ongoing dispute between the City Guards and the Knight Squadron. The City Guards, who are composed of commoners, are protesting against the Knight Squadron, who are noble-born soldiers, claiming that they are not receiving enough funding to protect the city.

Lady Lucia requests Touya's assistance in mediating a peaceful resolution between the two factions. Touya accepts the task and along with Lady Yumina and the other girls, they begin their work. They visit the City Guard headquarters where Touya notices a few flaws in the defense system. Touya suggests a few modifications which will help protect the city more efficiently, and the City Guards agree to this proposal.

Next, Touya visits the Knight Squadron, who are stationed at the Royal Palace and speaks with their commander, Sir Augustus. Touya learns that the Knight Squad's funding is also limited, and they can barely manage to protect the palace, let alone the city. Touya decides to find a solution that benefits both factions.

After consulting with Lady Lucia, Touya requests an audience with the King to request more funding for both factions. Touya presents a detailed plan to the King, who agrees with Touya's recommendations. The King allocates an ample amount of funds to both the City Guards and the Knight Squadron, thus ending the dispute.

Meanwhile, while in Mismede, Touya reunites with an old acquaintance, Duke Alfred. Duke Alfred is the father of Lady Linze and Lady Ellias, who are Touya's companions. Duke Alfred is interested in Touya's smartphone, and Touya even offers to give him one. However, the Duke declines and instead asks Touya to help him transport rare medicinal herbs from the forest. Touya accepts, and they set out on the dangerous journey.

After arriving safely back in Mismede, Touya shows Duke Alfred how his smartphone allows him to search for information. Duke Alfred is astounded by the vast amount of knowledge at Touya's fingertips and asks him to search for a cure for a disease that has been plaguing the people of Mismede. Touya obliges and discovers a cure.

In "Episode 4," Touya's role in Mismede becomes more apparent as he helps resolve the political dispute between the City Guards and the Knight Squadron. Additionally, he reunites with Duke Alfred and discovers that his smartphone can help save lives. The episode also touches on class conflict, with the City Guards being composed of commoners and the Knight Squadron being nobles, and how resources are unevenly distributed between them. Touya's solution manages to satisfy both factions, and the episode ends with a positive outcome.
