Ep 8. Jessica Rabbit

In the Dark season 1 episode 8, titled "Jessica Rabbit," follows the aftermath of the explosive events of the previous episode. Murphy and Jess try to process the fact that Dean is now gone, and that Murphy was the one who identified and reported him to the police. Meanwhile, Max struggles with the realization that her girlfriend is the one who murdered Tyson. Things take a surprising turn when Felix, Murphy's friend that she has been trying to track down for months, shows up unexpectedly - but his presence may be causing more harm than good.

As Murphy and Jess try to come to terms with Dean's death, they find that it's not as simple as just feeling guilty for turning him in. They're both acutely aware that their actions have led to the potential unraveling of a whole criminal enterprise that Tyson worked for, and they're unsure of what that will mean for all involved. Meanwhile, Max is dealing with her own set of emotions - she's torn between wanting to support Murphy through this difficult time, while also feeling betrayed and unsure of how to proceed.

Just as the characters think they can start to process everything that has happened, Felix shows up. Murphy is relieved at first - she's finally able to see her friend and get some answers about what's been going on. But it's not long before things start to take a turn. Felix's erratic behavior and refusal to answer a lot of Murphy's questions begins to make her suspicious. And when some dangerous figures from his past come looking for him, Murphy realizes that she may have made a mistake in trusting him.

Despite all the drama and danger swirling around them, the characters are all still just human beings trying to deal with their emotions and relationships. In this episode, we see Jess and Murphy's friendship develop more as they rely on each other for support. We also see Max struggle with her own moral compass as she confronts the reality of the situation. In the midst of all the chaos, the characters are each trying to figure out who they are and what they want, making for a nuanced and compelling exploration of complicated issues.
