Insecure season 1 episode 3, titled "Racist as F**k," follows Issa as she deals with microaggressions at work while still struggling with her relationship with Lawrence. The episode begins with Issa at work, where a white coworker mistakenly assumes she knows another black woman in the office simply because they are both black. Issa is irritated but decides not to make a big deal out of it.

As the day progresses, Issa continues to encounter racially charged situations, including a meeting where her ideas are dismissed, only for a white coworker to later propose the same idea and receive praise for it. Issa's frustration with these microaggressions is compounded when she speaks with her coworker and friend, Frieda, who claims not to experience any of the same issues because she is white.

Meanwhile, Issa is still dealing with the aftermath of her fight with Lawrence. She is afraid to talk to him about the situation, and instead confides in her best friend Molly. Molly tries to encourage Issa to be honest with Lawrence, but Issa is hesitant, fearing that their fight may have damaged their relationship irreparably.

Later, Issa attends a fundraiser for We Got Y'all, a nonprofit organization that helps inner-city kids. While at the event, Issa is once again reminded of her race when she encounters a white woman who makes an insensitive comment about the kids the organization helps. Issa is taken aback but ultimately decides to confront the woman about her comment.

As the episode comes to a close, Issa is still struggling with both her relationship with Lawrence and her experiences of racism at work. However, she takes some solace in the fact that she was able to stand up for herself and her community at the fundraiser, and begins to feel like maybe she is making a difference, albeit a small one.

Overall, "Racist as F**k" is a powerful episode that explores the different ways that microaggressions and systemic racism can impact people's daily lives. Through Issa's experiences, the episode highlights the frustrating and sometimes exhausting experiences that people of color have to navigate in order to succeed both professionally and personally. Despite the heavy subject matter, the episode still manages to be both humorous and heartwarming, with some great moments of levity and hope scattered throughout.
