The episode starts with Huiyi, a Chinese elderly woman living alone in Singapore. She wakes up early in the morning to exercise and stretches and dances in her tiny apartment. Huiyi is a cheerful woman who has strong beliefs and values, which is evident from her daily routine. She prays to her ancestors, cooks traditional Chinese meals, and spends time weaving palm leaves for fun. Huiyi values her independence and does not like to rely on anyone.

One day while Huiyi is weaving palm leaves, she falls off her chair and hurts her back. Despite the pain, she tries to make tea for herself, but she cannot reach the kettle as it is placed high. She realizes that the pain is unbearable, and she won't be able to move by herself. She screams for help, but no one comes to her rescue. Huiyi realizes that she is completely alone and helpless.

Next, we see Huiyi lying on the floor, thinking about her life. She remembers her husband who passed away a long time ago and how much she misses him. Huiyi also thinks about her daughter and grandson, who live in China. She had cut ties with them after a disagreement and has not spoken to them in years. Huiyi regrets her decision to break ties and wishes she could see them once more.

As time passes, Huiyi's condition worsens, and she becomes delirious from the pain. She starts to hallucinate and imagines her grandson standing in front of her. Her grandson tells her he is sorry for not coming to visit her and for not calling, and Huiyi forgives him. Huiyi feels a sense of peace and closure.

Later that day, Huiyi's neighbor, Mr. Tan, comes to visit her and finds her lying on the floor. He immediately calls for help, and Huiyi is taken to the hospital. Doctors diagnose her with a severe back injury and admit her to the hospital.

While in the hospital, Huiyi remembers her daughter and grandson again and decides to call them. She learns that her grandson had wanted to come to Singapore to visit her, but he did not have enough money. Huiyi decides to pay for his plane ticket and brings him to Singapore to visit her.

When Huiyi's grandson visits her, they have a heartfelt conversation, and Huiyi expresses how much she loves and misses him. Her grandson tells her that he wants to stay in Singapore and take care of her, but Huiyi insists that he must go back to China. She tells him that he has his own life to live and experiences to gain, and that he should never forget where he came from.

The episode ends with Huiyi being discharged from the hospital with her grandson by her side. They both walk back to Huiyi's apartment, and Huiyi feels grateful and content. She realizes that even in her old age, she still has people who love and care for her.
