As Jane the Virgin season 3 episode 10 begins, Jane and Michael are adjusting to life as newlyweds. Jane is excited to start her new job teaching writing at a local college, while Michael is busy with his own career in law enforcement. However, their blissful newlywed phase is cut short when Jane's father, Rogelio, reveals that he has been cast in a new telenovela that will film in Mexico City.

Meanwhile, Petra is still reeling from the revelation that her twin sister Anezka has taken over her life, and is determined to regain control. She enlists the help of her ex-husband, Rafael, to help her expose Anezka's scheme. However, their plan takes an unexpected turn when they discover that Anezka may be more dangerous than they initially thought.

As Jane settles into her new job, she finds herself struggling to connect with her students, who are more interested in their phones than in her lectures on writing. However, she soon discovers that one of her students, a young woman named Abbey, is struggling with a personal issue that is affecting her work. Jane becomes determined to help Abbey, even if it means going against the rules of her job.

Elsewhere, Xiomara is dealing with her own personal issues. She is trying to keep her singing career afloat, while also dealing with the aftermath of her breakup with Rogelio. She struggles with whether or not she should tell him about her recent discovery regarding her health, and ultimately decides to lean on her friends and family for support.

As the episode progresses, tensions rise and secrets are revealed, ending in a shocking twist that will leave viewers eager for the next installment of Jane the Virgin.
