They realize that the two creatures just want to be free and have been trapped under their former master's control for years.
Despite their understanding, Yoshimori, Tokine, and Gen cannot allow the creatures to continue their destructive rampage, and they continue to fight. Eventually, they overpower Koya and Madarao, and they turn into stones. As they leave the scene, Yoshimori and Tokine ponder the dilemmas, choices, and consequences they face as Kekkaishi’s responsible for taking care of Karasumori.
