Kekkaishi Season 1 Episode 13 Masamori Sumimura Chief of the Night Troops

Masamori Sumimura Chief of the Night Troops is the thirteenth episode of the first season of Kekkaishi anime. In this episode, we get to see Masamori Sumimura, the older brother of Yoshimori, the protagonist of the series. Yoshimori and Tokine are surprised to see him at school, but soon they get to know that Masamori has come to Karasumori to help them fight the evil Ayakashi.

Masamori is the Chief of the Night Troops, which is a special organization that monitors Karasumori, and he has come to investigate the disturbances happening around the area. Yoshimori is curious to know about Masamori's work, but his brother does not want to divulge much information. He asks Yoshimori to concentrate on his training and protect the land from the Ayakashi.

As Yoshimori and Tokine start to focus on their training, they realize that Masamori has a rare spirit signature that allows him to identify Ayakashi with ease. They wonder how he acquired such a power, but Masamori remains tight-lipped on the matter. Later, Masamori takes Yoshimori and Tokine to visit the Night Troops' headquarters, where they get to see the high-tech equipment used to monitor the Ayakashi activity.

Meanwhile, an Ayakashi named Gagin is causing havoc in the city. Gagin is a powerful spirit that can change his shape and size, making him difficult to catch. Masamori believes that Gagin is after something valuable in Karasumori, and he asks Yoshimori and Tokine to be careful.

As Yoshimori and Tokine hunt down Gagin, they realize that the Ayakashi has strength beyond their imagination. They quickly realize that they are outmatched and call for Masamori's help. Masamori arrives and starts to fight Gagin with his special spirit blade. Despite Gagin's strength, Masamori's blade proves to be too much for him. Masamori finally defeats Gagin and saves the city from destruction.

After the battle, Masamori reveals to Yoshimori that he is not only the Chief of the Night Troops but also an ex-member of the Shadow Organization. Yoshimori is shocked to hear this, as the Shadow Organization is the most feared group of demon hunters in the world. Masamori tells Yoshimori that he left the organization because of their cruel techniques of exterminating Ayakashi. He believes that Ayakashi deserve to live just like humans, and nobody has a right to kill them all.

In the end, Masamori bids farewell to Yoshimori and Tokine, and promises to come back to Karasumori if needed. Masamori's visit has taught Yoshimori and Tokine the importance of protecting the land from the Ayakashi. It has also taught them that even the strongest Ayakashi can be defeated if they work together.
