In Kekkaishi season 1 episode 34 titled "A Voice from the Egg, Calling from the Darkness," Yoshimori and Tokine are given another challenging mission. They are sent to investigate an old, abandoned building that is said to be haunted. Upon arrival, they notice something strange - there is a forbidden technique seal on the door, implying that there is something dangerous inside. Despite this, they enter the building and continue their investigation.
As they make their way through the dark hallways, they sense an unusual presence. They soon come across a room filled with mysterious eggs. Before they can investigate further, the eggs begin to hatch, and they are confronted by a strange creature. The creature claims to be a Mikaboshi, a god of darkness, and declares that he has been waiting for this moment to emerge from his seal.
The Mikaboshi tells Yoshimori and Tokine that he has been sealed away for hundreds of years, and that he has been awakened by the negative emotions of those who have entered the building over the years. He tells them that he wants to be free and that he will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
As the Mikaboshi continues to speak, they notice that one of the eggs has not hatched yet. The Mikaboshi explains that the egg is his and that it contains the source of his power. He tells the Kekkaishi that if they destroy the egg, the seal will be broken, and he will be free. However, if they allow the egg to hatch, the Mikaboshi will gain his full power and be unstoppable.
Yoshimori and Tokine are faced with a difficult decision. They know that they must stop the Mikaboshi, but they also know that destroying the egg could have dire consequences. As they contemplate their next move, the Mikaboshi tells them that he has the ability to manipulate their emotions and that he will use this power to force them to do his bidding.
Yoshimori and Tokine are not easily swayed, however. They quickly realize that the Mikaboshi's power is fueled by negativity and that the only way to defeat him is with positive emotions. They focus on their love for each other and their desire to protect their friends and family. As they do, their powers begin to grow stronger, and they are able to fight back against the Mikaboshi's control.
In a final showdown, Yoshimori and Tokine face off against the Mikaboshi. They use their Kekkaishi powers to attack him, but he is too powerful. They realize that the only way to defeat him is by destroying the egg. With a heavy heart, Yoshimori uses his power to destroy the egg, breaking the seal and releasing the Mikaboshi.
However, instead of a powerful enemy, they find themselves face to face with a small, vulnerable creature. The Mikaboshi's true form is that of a small, egg-like creature. He explains that the negative emotions of those who had entered the building had fed him, making him stronger. However, the positive emotions of Yoshimori and Tokine had weakened him, allowing them to defeat him.
Yoshimori and Tokine realize that their love for each other and their desire to protect their loved ones had been their greatest weapon. The episode ends with the two of them leaving the building, relieved that the mission was a success.
