After completing a dangerous mission, Yoshimori and Tokine are given a few days off to rest and recover. However, they decide to take this time to focus on their individual kekkai techniques. Yoshimori trains with his grandfather, Masamori, to improve his mastery of the kekkai walls and build his physical strength. Tokine, on the other hand, trains with the family's spirit guide, Atora, to develop her ability to create long-range kekkai attacks.
As they both push themselves to the limit, they reflect on their motivations for becoming kekkaishi. Yoshimori reveals his desire to protect his family and friends, while Tokine shares her sense of duty and responsibility towards their clan. Meanwhile, they discover that their training methods differ greatly from Masamori and Atora's, leading them to question their own abilities and confidence in their skills.
However, a sudden attack by one of the Ayakashi disrupts their training, forcing them to put their newly acquired techniques to the test. Yoshimori and Tokine work together to protect the people and property around them, but they begin to realize that their training has only scratched the surface of what they are capable of achieving.
As the episode comes to a close, Yoshimori and Tokine vow to continue their training and improve their kekkai techniques. They realize that the responsibility of being a kekkaishi requires constant growth and development, and they are prepared to face whatever challenges come their way.
