In "Traffic Jam," the sixteenth episode of the second season of King Of The Hill, Hank becomes a traffic cop for the Arlen Police Department, which creates tension between him and his friends. Meanwhile, as the annual Arlen Tomato Parade approaches, Dale is devastated to discover that the parade might not happen due to low volunteer turnout.

Hank's new position as a traffic cop becomes a source of pride for him as he sees it as a way to improve the traffic situation in Arlen. However, his wife Peggy and his friends Bill, Dale, and Boomhauer feel that he's just power-hungry. They don't like his newfound authority, forcing Hank to make a choice between his friends and his job.

As Hank takes his role as a traffic cop seriously, he becomes more and more obsessed with issuing tickets to careless drivers. This leads to a confrontation with the cook from his favorite burger joint, who receives a ticket from Hank for making an illegal U-turn. The burger joint refuses to serve Hank after that, which leads to Hank feeling isolated from his usual routine.

As the Arlen Tomato Parade approaches, Dale and Peggy worry that the event may not happen due to the lack of volunteers. Dale takes it upon himself to help recruit volunteers, but he struggles to find people who are willing to give up their time to help with the parade. When they finally do manage to get volunteers, the parade is short-lived, as a major traffic jam occurs, forcing the parade to come to a halt.

In the end, Hank makes a decision between his friends and his job as a traffic cop. Meanwhile, Dale comes up with a plan to save the parade, but it's not without consequences. Peggy must also deal with the fact that she's getting older and her body isn't what it used to be.

Overall, "Traffic Jam" is an entertaining episode of King Of The Hill that showcases the series' humor and relatable characters. The conflict between Hank and his friends is relatable, as it's something many people have experienced in their own lives. The episode also deals with larger issues, such as the importance of community involvement and dealing with one's limitations as they age. Ultimately, "Traffic Jam" is an enjoyable episode that will leave viewers laughing and thinking long after it's over.
