In season 4 episode 3 of Law & Order: CI titled 'Want,' we see Detective Robert Goren and Detective Alexandra Eames investigate the murder of a young woman named Jolene Castille. Jolene was found dead in her apartment, and the detectives immediately notice signs of a struggle. They begin their investigation by interviewing Jolene's friend and roommate, Kelly, who tells them that Jolene had been seeing a man named Teddy, whom she had met online.
As they dig deeper into the case, Goren and Eames discover that Teddy was actually a pseudonym used by a man named Greg, who had a history of stalking and domestic violence. Greg had been previously arrested for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, and Jolene had obtained a restraining order against him shortly before her death.
The detectives continue their investigation and come across a number of other suspects, including Jolene's ex-boyfriend, a co-worker who had been harassing her, and a man who had been following her. However, as they dig deeper into each of these suspects, they begin to realize that Greg is likely responsible for Jolene's murder.
In order to build a case against Greg, Goren and Eames begin to explore his past and discover that he had a history of writing violent and disturbing poetry. They also uncover evidence that suggests that he had been stalking Jolene for some time, including emails and messages that he had sent to her.
As they prepare to make an arrest, the detectives become increasingly concerned that Greg may be planning to harm Jolene's family. They rush to her family's home, but when they arrive, they find that Greg has already beaten them there. A tense stand-off ensues, and the detectives must use all of their skills to bring the situation under control and apprehend Greg.
In the aftermath of the case, Goren and Eames reflect on the danger that social media can pose and urge people to be cautious when meeting strangers online. They also reflect on the tragic loss of Jolene and the many lives that have been impacted by her death.
