  • Desperate to find out more about Becca's overdose, Maggie reads her diary but is caught red handed, driving a wedge between the pair. At school Paul (Danny Webb) is under attack from an interfering parent governor who thinks his involvement with Maggie is affecting his teaching capabilities and threatens to contact the press. This in turn leads to the arrival of Paul's ex-wife Paula (Sally Dexter), whom their son Simon (Jon Newman) called to warn of possible media interest. And at the travel agents regional sales person of the month Genevieve wins a holiday for four to Lanzarote and gives it to Maggie. But who will she take?

  • Things nearly end in tragedy for Maggie and her family when daughter Becca (Ace Ryan) accidentally takes a drug overdose that leaves her fighting for her life in hospital. At the travel agency, Jeff is unhappy about Aidan, a hippie traveller who has come to book a flight, but Maggie secretly tells Aidan to come back later when Jeff is at the dentist. She hatches a good deed plan to book him a ticket on the internet without charging him, he hasn't much money and wants to go back home to Ireland to visit his mother. Will she get a way with it?

  • Maggie and Paul are round at Brenda (Anne Reid) and Eric's (Frank Finlay) for Sunday lunch. Maggie can't stop thinking about the kiss she had with Phil the previous night. As they wash up after lunch, she realises the stress her mother is under looking after Eric and suggests that her dad comes to stay with her for a weekend giving Brenda the chance for a complete break away with her friend Nancy. At work, Phil tries to talk to Maggie about their kiss as he feels that he may have upset her, but she brushes off his concerns and refuses to talk about. Later, Phil tells Guy what happened, and Guy of course tells Clare, who is furious with Maggie...

  • Phil (Alexander Armstrong) continues to hang around Maggie, even coming round in the evenings when Paul (Danny Webb) is there, and staying the night on the couch. Maggie is very upset when Phil finally admits that he has been made redundant with no pay-off, meaning money will start to be extremely tight for them all. Later during a meal with Paul, Guy (Stuart McQuarrie) and Clare (Claire Skinner), an innocent supportive hug is mistaken for kissing. When they get home, Paul invents an excuse for going back to his flat with Maggie, so that they can be on their own...they leave Phil to baby-sit and get the kids off to school in the morning.

  • Maggie continues to rub Genevieve up the wrong way at work. At a funeral, Brenda (Anne Reid) and Eric (Frank Finlay) meet an old friend, Frank (Roy Dotrice), who they haven't seen for many years. When they were much younger, Brenda had courted Frank before meeting Eric. They invite Frank to stay after the funeral and discover that he is now divorced and still holds a torch for Brenda. Maggie is in a similar situation herself, with two men who care about her...

  • In the first episode, Maggie's car has broken down on the day she is supposed to be welcoming the new staff to the expanded travel agents' office. Following the amalgamation of two branches, Jeff (Paul Thornley) now oversees two more people, as well as Maggie, Karen (Sarah Ozeke) and Helen (Chloe Howman). Maggie turns up late to meet the abrasive Genevieve (Michelle Holmes), demoted manager of the old branch, and Kevin (Finlay Robertson). Can her day get any worse...
