Make Yourself At Home is a travel and lifestyle show that follows the adventures of host, Denise as she immerses herself in different cultures around the world. In this episode, Denise travels to the vibrant and colorful country of Morocco.
As Denise arrives in Morocco, she is immediately struck by the stunning architecture and bustling streets. She starts her journey in Marrakesh, one of Morocco's largest and most famous cities. Here, she explores the maze-like souks and bazaars, filled with exotic spices, colorful fabrics, and beautiful handicrafts.
Denise makes her way through the narrow alleys, stopping to admire the intricate tile work and ornate doorways. She even tries her hand at bargaining with the local vendors, determined to get a good deal on some souvenirs to take back home.
Next, Denise visits a traditional Moroccan home, known as a riad. These homes are typically built around a central courtyard and decorated with beautiful tiles and textiles. Denise takes a tour of the riad, marveling at the intricate details and learning about the history and culture of these unique homes.
Afterward, Denise heads to a nearby market to pick up ingredients for a traditional Moroccan tagine. Tagine is a slow-cooked stew made with meat, vegetables, and aromatic spices, and is a staple of Moroccan cuisine. With the help of a local chef, Denise learns how to properly prepare and cook the tagine, and is thrilled with the delicious results.
The next day, Denise sets out to visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient fortified city is made entirely out of clay and has been featured in many Hollywood films, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Denise hikes up to the top of the city, taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
As her trip comes to a close, Denise reflects on the rich history and culture of Morocco, and the warm hospitality she experienced from the local people. She leaves with a newfound appreciation for this vibrant and colorful country, and a desire to one day return.
