Making Mr. Right is a dating reality series featuring a group of women posing as matchmakers, who are looking for love themselves. The premise involves gathering a group of suitable suitors who believe they are there to receive matchmaking tips. In actuality, they are being groomed as possible partners for the women. The show features a great deal of conversation concerning the best way to find romance. Three single women posing as matchmakers work with expert and host of the show, matchmaker April Beyer. Participants include Lindsay Marissa, Brittany Skipper and Rachel Seeker. They monitor a group of selected bachelors as they experience a series of special exercises to help them determine their road blocks to love. Hidden cameras and electronic devices record every move of the men as they chat with each other unawares and deal with all of the exercises. The goal is for them to become better at daters, however, the women evaluate the men against their own relationship expectations and needs. After each exercise, the women determine which men are more likely to become their love interests and which are not. There is an elimination at the end of each show. Those who are able to be molded into suitable matches for one of the women stay on. Host April Beyer provides advice and insight to help guide the women toward choosing the most eligible bachelors. Through detailed voyeurism, the women watch and critique how the men talk, behave and dress. Then they provide advice to the men with the most potential with tips on how to communicate better, dress well and behave in the best way while on a date. At the series end, the women will reveal the truth about whom they really are.
