Ep 2. Fallen Idol

In M*A*S*H season 6 episode 2, titled "Fallen Idol," the 4077th is visited by a group of touring congressmen, including a famous football player-turned-congressman named "Zonk" (played by guest star Joe Namath). Hawkeye and Trapper try to impress the VIPs with their medical skills, but they become too distracted by their starstruck admiration of Zonk.

Meanwhile, Frank becomes jealous of the attention Zonk is receiving and tries to out-do him by performing a dangerous surgery on a soldier. This leads to a heated debate between Frank and Hawkeye about medical ethics.

In the midst of all this, Klinger is trying desperately to impress his visiting hometown sweetheart, Laverne Esposito (played by guest star Rita Wilson). But his attempts at impressing her backfire, leading to a hilarious series of misadventures.

As the episode progresses, it becomes clear that each character is struggling with the pressure to live up to some kind of ideal, whether it's the ideal of the perfect physician or the perfect lover.
