Ep 12. Out of Gas

Hawkeye and B.J. are out on a road trip to deliver some medical supplies to another unit, but things don't go quite as planned. While they're on the way, their jeep runs out of gas and they're stranded in the middle of nowhere. They try unsuccessfully to flag down passing vehicles, but no one stops to help them. As the hours pass, they begin to worry about how they're going to get back to the 4077th.

Meanwhile, back at the camp, Charles is in charge of a group of Korean patients who are being treated at the M*A*S*H unit. He is initially dismissive of their complaints and cultural differences, but he starts to connect with one patient who tells him about his life before the war. As Charles learns more about the patient's background, he begins to see him as more than just a medical case, and he begins to advocate for him.

Back on the road, Hawkeye and B.J. are getting increasingly desperate, and they begin to bicker and argue with each other. They try to ration their remaining supplies, but they soon realize that they're going to have to make a difficult decision: whether to wait for help or to try to walk back to the M*A*S*H unit. They debate the pros and cons of each option, but they ultimately decide to make the trek on foot.

As they trudge through the countryside, they encounter various obstacles, including farmers who don't speak English and children who pelt them with rocks. They also have to deal with physical exhaustion and hunger. But they keep pressing on, driven by their determination to get back to the 4077th.

Meanwhile, back at the camp, the situation with the Korean patients becomes more complicated when their village is threatened by enemy forces. Charles and the rest of the M*A*S*H staff are forced to make some tough decisions about how to best protect their patients and the Korean villagers who have sought refuge at the camp.
