Miffy and Snuffy go with Barbara and Boris to the North Pole! Miffy makes a new friend named Umik, while Snuffy is quick to make friends with a sled-pulling dog named Husky. Umik shows Miffy icebergs and whales and the igloo that is his house. Miffy has brought a gift of potted flowers for her hosts. When they're unable to plant the flowers in the frozen ground outside, Miffy gets the idea to draw pictures of flowers inside. They hang up all the pictures and make the first flower garden on the North Pole! Goodbye is never easy to say, but it's more fun to do it on the North Pole because they say goodbye by rubbing noses!

Miffy, Melanie, and Grunty ride a train with Miffy's parents to visit an old castle in Europe. They hear that in each country people speak their own languages. In the castle, they find a draw bridge, a wishing well, colourful flags, and a huge room where everything seems to be made of gold. Miffy declares herself a king, Melanie is the queen, and Grunty is left to be a child princess - an idea Grunty isn't happy about. When Grunty can't keep up with her bigger and older friends, she discovers a standing suit of armour and declares herself a Knight in Shining Armour! Everyone cheers for the Knight before running to catch their train home.

Miffy and Melanie fly in an airplane with Uncle Pilot to the Far East. In a beautiful park with trees filled with pink blossoms, they meet a boy named Taka who teaches them to bow when you meet someone. They have lunch in a restaurant, that is run by Taka's parents and have a funny time trying to eat seaweed and rice with chopsticks. After lunch Taka has a surprise for them, it's a kite! But Miffy doesn't like Taka's kite which has the face of a scary dragon. Taka explains that where he lives, dragons aren't scary - they bring good luck. This helps Miffy get over her fears and soon they're all flying the dragon kite - celebrating the good luck of making new friends.
