Ep 4. Homecoming

Ethan Hunt and the IMF team are tasked with rescuing Dr. Barbara Bainbridge, a scientist who has been kidnapped by Eastern Bloc agents. As they plan the operation, they discover that one of their own, Dan Briggs, is alive and being held captive alongside Bainbridge. With this newfound information, Briggs becomes the key to their mission's success.

The team's first attempt to rescue the pair fails, leading to a chase through the streets and a deadly shootout. Their second attempt involves a risky plan to exchange Briggs and Bainbridge for a fake prototype that the Eastern Bloc agents have been searching for. To pull off this switch, the team enlists the help of an old friend, a master of disguise who is able to impersonate one of the Eastern Bloc agents.

As the exchange goes down, tensions rise and the team must improvise when their plan starts to unravel. With dangerous double-crosses and surprise twists, the IMF team will have to rely on their skills and wits to make it out alive.

Meanwhile, Jim Phelps, the team's leader, is dealing with personal matters as he tries to reconnect with his ex-wife back home. As the mission grows more complex, Phelps must balance his personal life with the high-stakes world of espionage.
