In a game that appeared to be heading to extras following a duel between Charlie Morton and Tim Hudson, the Bucs were awarded a walk-off win over the Giants upon review. On a play at the plate, Starling Marte was called out, but Clint Hurdle challenged the call, which was overturned.

Following a three-base error by Dayan Viciedo on Austin Jackson's fly ball to the warning track in right-center, Bryan Holaday laid down a bunt single with two outs to score Jackson and give the Tigers a win at U.S. Cellular Field.

Jose Abreu set a Major League rookie record in the most dramatic fashion possible, hitting a walk-off grand slam in the ninth for his second homer of the game and ninth of the season, setting the mark for most rookie homers before the end of April.

The Cubs were one strike away from celebrating Wrigley Field's 100th anniversary with a victory, but Arizona roared back with a five-run ninth. Aaron Hill went 4-for-5 with the go-ahead triple for the D-backs, and Jeff Samardzija notched his fifth quality start for the Cubs.

Albert Pujols entered two homers shy of becoming the 26th player in big league history with 500 career homers, and he took care of business, with blasts in the first and fifth innings to make history in the Halos' win in D.C.

Following less than a 12-hour turnaround, the Orioles rose early with a six-run third and got at least one hit from every position player before staving off a furious Red Sox rally on Patriots' Day in Boston to earn a series split.

Giancarlo Stanton's error in the second led to two runs, but he hit a walk-off slam after an overturned call loaded the bases in the ninth for Miami. Seattle had no place to put Stanton after umpires ruled that Kyle Seager bobbled the ball on the transfer on a catch at third.

Julio Teheran threw his first-career shutout, and Cliff Lee nearly matched the 23-year-old with 13 strikeouts and a complete game of his own. Evan Gattis went 4-for-4 and tagged Lee with the only run on a fourth-inning homer.

After extending their lead on consecutive homers by Evan Gattis, Dan Uggla and Andrelton Simmons, the Braves lost their edge when the Phillies scored five. But Atlanta had one more homer to swat, and it was a big one, with Uggla putting away the game with a grand slam in the ninth.

With help from Justin Morneau's first Colorado homer, the Rockies fought back from a three-run deficit to tie the game and got a great play at the plate to force extra innings, but Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford slugged a leadoff homer into McCovey Cove in the 10th to win it.

Victor Martinez hit a game-winning homer in the 10th to take Joe Nathan off the hook minutes after Dee Gordon's game-tying single off the Tigers closer capped a three-run Dodgers ninth. Detroit was in line for a series split in regulation thanks to Nick Castellanos' first career homer.

The Nationals had to make a pair of comebacks to dispose of the Marlins. First they evened the score after trailing by five early, thanks in part to Bryce Harper's three-run homer. When trailing by a run in the eighth, Jayson Werth hit a grand slam to put the Nats on top for good.

After the Mets won a key replay challenge, trailing by a run in the ninth, Ike Davis hit a pinch-hit walk-off grand slam to stun the Reds. Brandon Phillips had given Cincinnati the lead with a homer in the eighth after Curtis Granderson's first Mets homer gave New York a lead in the sixth.

Masahiro Tanaka's debut started with a homer by the Jays' Melky Cabrera, but it ended with the righty having struck out eight over seven impressive innings. He earned the win thanks in part to a successful challenge with two outs setting up Yangervis Solarte's lead-changing double.

Adrian Beltre's double scored Shin-Soo Choo in the seventh to tie the game, then Beltre's single scored Choo in the ninth for the Rangers' first win of 2014. A.J. Burnett was strong in his Philly debut, which featured a successful replay challenge by Texas.

Cubs manager Rick Renteria issued the first challenge in MLB history in the fifth (the call was confirmed), and after nine scoreless innings, Neil Walker secured the Opening Day victory for the Pirates with a walk-off homer.
