In the second episode of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans season 1, entitled "BARBATOS," we are introduced to the series' main protagonist, Mikazuki Augus. Mikazuki is a member of the private security company CGS, which operates on Mars and hires out its services to various clients.
At the beginning of the episode, we see Mikazuki and his friend Biscuit boarding a train to transport a group of young girls who have been sold into slavery. The girls are going to be taken to Earth to work in the sex trade, and CGS has been hired to provide security for the journey. Mikazuki and Biscuit are both uneasy about the job, but they know that they have to do it.
As the train makes its way to the spaceport, it comes under attack from pirates. The pirates are after the girls and the cargo they are carrying, and they are not afraid to kill anyone who gets in their way. Mikazuki and Biscuit fight back with everything they have, but they are outmatched by the pirates' superior weapons and technology.
Just as it seems like all hope is lost, a mysterious figure appears on the battlefield. This figure is piloting a mobile suit, which is a type of giant robot used in combat. The mobile suit is the legendary Gundam, and its pilot is none other than Orga Itsuka, the leader of CGS.
With the Gundam on their side, Mikazuki and Biscuit are able to turn the tide of the battle. The Gundam is equipped with powerful weapons and armor, and it is able to take on multiple enemies at once. The pirates are no match for the Gundam, and they are quickly defeated.
After the battle is over, Mikazuki and Biscuit express their amazement at the power of the Gundam. They had heard rumors about the machine, but they had never seen it in action before. Orga tells them that the Gundam is a relic from a bygone era, and that it is more powerful than anything else currently in use.
As the episode draws to a close, we see Mikazuki gazing up at the Gundam with a look of awe on his face. He realizes that this machine is going to change everything for him and his friends, and that they are embarking on a journey that will test their courage and their loyalty.
