Tommy is eager to undergo male circumcision after discovering all the potential health benefits that await him upon undergoing the procedure. The rest of the family are not as thrilled with this idea and try to make sure Tommy knows what the implications of a circumcision are. Susan is convinced that her son’s decision to have the procedure isn’t one he came to entirely on his own and enlists Michael to discourage him from going through with it. Nick tries to educate his brother on the various risks such as the chance of infection or even mistakes occurring and takes him to a hospital to witness first hand exactly how the procedure is done. Meanwhile, Ben's new business venture is described in more detail and doesn't appear to be running as smoothly as he had predicted; Janey’s student film needs a subject and her parents don’t exactly jump at the opportunity to be in it. Ultimately, the episode’s main focus is on Tommy’s willingness to change himself for the sake of supposed health benefits at the risk of losing a part of himself and dealing with the familial conflicts that arise from that decision.
