Ep 13. Daedalus and Icarus

In the season 1 finale of Mythic Warriors, we follow the story of Daedalus and his son Icarus as they attempt to escape the island of Crete.

Daedalus, a skilled craftsman and inventor, is imprisoned on the island by King Minos along with his son Icarus. As they become desperate to escape, Daedalus devises a plan to create wings made of feathers and wax. He warns Icarus not to fly too close to the sun as the heat could melt the wax and cause him to fall.

Once they take flight, Icarus is overwhelmed by the sensation of flying and begins to soar higher and higher, ignoring his father's warnings. As predicted, the wax on his wings melts from the sun's heat and Icarus falls to his death into the sea.

Daedalus grieves for his son but continues to fly to safety, eventually finding refuge in Sicily under the protection of King Cocalus.

The episode delves into the themes of hubris and the consequences of disobedience. It also showcases the bond between a father and son as Daedalus struggles with the guilt of warning his son about the dangers of flying and ultimately failing to save him.
