Nighty Night was a British comedy TV series created by and starring Julia Davis. The show ran for two seasons and aired on BBC Three between 2004 and 2005. The show centers on Jill, an unsettlingly sociopathic woman who seeks to destroy the lives of those around her. It is a darkly comedic look at the outrageous lengths people go to in order to get what they want.

Season 1 episode 3, simply titled "Episode 3," begins with Jill, who owns a beauty salon, welcoming a new client, a woman named Rosie who has come in for some beauty treatments. However, Jill quickly becomes fixated on Rosie after discovering that she is terminally ill and only has three months to live. Jill sees this as an opportunity to get closer to Don, Rosie's husband, who Jill finds attractive.

Meanwhile, Jill's husband, Terry, has recently been fired from his job at a DIY superstore. Jill uses this as leverage to convince Terry to participate in her plan to seduce Don and convince him to leave Rosie. Jill is convinced that this is the only way she can get what she wants from Don.

As the episode progresses, we see Jill become increasingly manipulative and deceitful, going to great lengths to get what she wants. She lies to Rosie's daughter, falsely telling her that Jill has been caring for her mother and has even convinced Terry to lie to Don about Rosie's health, pretending that everything is fine and Rosie has many years left to live.

Things continue to escalate when Jill impersonates Rosie in a phone call to Don, leading him to believe that Rosie is cheating on him. Don confronts Rosie, who is shocked and upset at the accusations, leading her to confront Jill about her behavior.

Ultimately, Jill's plan to seduce Don fails and he remains loyal to his ailing wife. In the end, Jill is left with nothing, having lost both Don and Terry, who leaves her after he realizes how manipulative she has been.

Throughout the episode, we see Jill's sociopathic tendencies on full display, as she stops at nothing to get what she wants. Her lack of empathy and disregard for others is both unsettling and darkly comedic, making for a captivating and entertaining viewing experience.

Overall, "Episode 3" is a great example of the show's unique brand of comedy, using dark and uncomfortable situations to create laughs. Julia Davis' performance as Jill is outstanding, and the supporting cast, including Angus Deayton as Don and Kevin Eldon as Terry, are equally impressive. The writing is sharp and witty, making for a must-watch episode for fans of dark comedy.
