Operation Ouch! is a British educational television show for children that is produced by the BBC. The show is hosted by twin brothers, Dr. Chris and Dr. Xand van Tulleken, who are both doctors and scientists. In Operation Ouch season 7 episode 20, titled "How To Solve A Crime", the twins focus on the science of solving crimes.

The episode begins with a challenge for the twins. Dr. Xand takes on the role of a "thief", and Dr. Chris has to use his detective skills to try and catch him. Dr. Chris uses clues like footprints, fingerprints, and hair samples to solve the crime. He also talks about how DNA can be used to identify suspects in a crime.

Next, the twins visit a forensic lab where they meet Dr. Dawnie Steadman, a forensic anthropologist. Dr. Steadman explains how she uses bones to help solve crimes, and shows the twins how to determine the age, sex, and height of a person just from looking at their bones.

After this, the twins meet with Detective Constable Adam Bailey, a police officer who specializes in using dogs to help solve crimes. Bailey has two dogs, both of whom are trained to use their sense of smell to help locate clues. The twins watch as the dogs search for hidden evidence in a park.

Later, Dr. Xand visits a laboratory where forensic scientists use superglue fumes to reveal fingerprints on objects. He learns how this technique works and sees it in action on a coffee cup.

The episode wraps up with a final challenge for the twins. Dr. Xand once again takes on the role of a "thief", but this time he has left behind a note. Dr. Chris has to use his forensic skills to try and identify the thief based on the evidence left behind. He analyzes the handwriting, the paper the note was written on, and the fingerprints left behind to try and catch the culprit.

Overall, Operation Ouch season 7 episode 20 is an informative and entertaining look at the science of solving crimes. The twins use a variety of techniques, from DNA analysis to canine detective work, to show how forensic scientists and detectives use science to catch criminals. The episode is sure to appeal to children who are interested in science, as well as those who are fans of detective stories.
