In Orangutan Jungle School season 2 episode 7 titled "The Road to Recovery," we see the continued journey of the orphaned orangutans that are being rehabilitated in Borneo's Nyaru Menteng orangutan rescue and rehabilitation center.

In this episode, we get to see a few of the orangutans who had been suffering from various ailments and injuries and were rehabilitated by the dedicated staff of the center. We get to see the journey of an orangutan named Mantra, who suffered from a spinal injury that had left her paralyzed. However, with the help of specialists at the center, she was able to regain mobility and live a more fulfilling life in her forest enclosure. We also get to see the progress of several other orangutans who had to undergo surgery to correct their ailments, including a young orangutan named Awang who had a hernia, and a four-year-old orangutan named Kevin who had a dislocated elbow.

Along with the stories of the orangutans' physical recoveries, we also get to see how their social skills are developed. The staff at the center works hard to ensure that the orangutans learn the skills necessary for survival in their natural habitat. One of the key things that the orangutans are taught is how to climb trees and move around the forest canopy with ease. In this episode, we see the orangutans being taught the correct techniques for climbing and foraging, with many of them showing impressive skills already.

The staff members also talk about how important it is for the young orangutans to learn from their elders and how they form strong bonds with the older orangutans in the center. The older orangutans serve as mentors, helping the young ones to learn the skills necessary for survival in the forest. We see this in action, as some of the older orangutans are seen interacting with the young ones, teaching them how to use tools, such as sticks, to fish for termites, their favorite food!

Throughout the episode, we see the joy and satisfaction that the staff members feel from working with these amazing animals. They all seem to have a deep love and respect for the orangutans in their care, and take great pride in their progress and achievements. We also get to see some of the volunteers who come to work at the center, and who are deeply committed to the cause, often giving up months of their time to help out.

As with previous episodes in the series, the stunning Bornean jungle landscapes are showcased, providing a stunning backdrop to the work being done at the center. The cinematography is excellent, and we get to see the orangutans in their natural habitat, playing and interacting as they would in the wild.

Overall, this episode of Orangutan Jungle School provides a fascinating insight into the work being done to rehabilitate these amazing creatures. We get to see the progress made by some of the orangutans who have been through tough times, and we also get to see the joy that the staff members and volunteers feel from working with these incredible animals.
